The following cleaning codes were adopted by the home furnishings industry in the late 60's in order to create a standardized format to rate the methods of cleaning various types of fabrics. When shopping for new furniture, you should be aware of the cleaning code for your new upholstered furniture. The cleaning code will give you insight to the use and care of your new furniture. If the cleaning code is not available from the retailer , then you should ask for them to obtain it. It is wise to go cautiously when trying to clean fabric.
